Eat 'til your heart's content!
Oats are among the healthiest of cereals. This is because they are high in fibre, containing a good balance of soluble and insoluble fibre. Soluble fibre is found in all fruit and vegetables but is particularly rich in oats. There is scientific research which suggests that soluble fibre from oats, when taken as part of a low fat diet can lower cholesterol and may help lower the risk of heart disease. Oats are naturally low in sugar, salt and saturated fat.
Why does Flahavan's Irish Porridge Oats taste so good?...
...Because it's the best in the field, naturally!
We at Flahavans have been milling the finest quality Irish oats for over six generations at the family mill beside the river Mahon, at Kilmacthomas, Co. Waterford. Each year we carefully select pure wholegrain oats, grown locally in the rich soil which nestles between the shelter of the Comeragh mountains and the sea. The oats are harvested and our unique milling process cooks the oats twice, to give Flahavan's Irish Porridge Oats their distinctive creamy texture and taste.
